Aspen Grove...

The Cocoa Daisy October kit Aspen Grove goes on sale on October 1st. The Design Team Gallery is full of fabulous inspiration - go check it out! :)

The amazing Halloween Project kit Bag of bones is also going up for sale - you can find it here!

This first layout is about Tuva's first word. Perhaps it wasn't really a word, but more of a sound... because she started to copying the cats, saying meow every time she saw them. So very cute.

I used the Switchback add on and the Embellishment pack together with the main kit and the Hidden Lakes patterned paper add on.

My second layout is about hos Linus and Alva made up this game where they were always guessing which one of the two elevators would arrive first, when visiting me at the hospital when I was expecing Tuva. :)

Walking...

The colour theory continues on the Tattered Angels Inspiration blog! I used complementary colours for my first September layout and here I created another one with a green background, but with a triadic colour scheme and the accent colours orange and purple.

I used gesso, acrylic paint, Glimmer Mists Blarney and Olive Vine, Chalkboard Glimmer Mist Sprout, Glimmer Mists Deep Plum and Candy Corn, Chalkboard Glimmer Mist Grape Ape, Glimmer Glam Private Meadow, Glimmer Glaze Wicked.

The stamp to the left is a Cocoa Daisy stamp.

"Full fart" is Swedish and means "full speed"... =)

Another drawing...

I found some time to draw a little today too... One of the fab things about drawing is that you don't need many supplies. Right now I just feel like drawing, drawing, drawing... :) I would love to reach a point where I'm confident enought not to get scared... scared of ruining what I've done, knowing that I can just start a new drawing if I'm not happy...

There's an online crop coming up...

...and you DON'T want to miss it...! :) Go to Cocoa Daisy and register at the MB, right away! Then mark you calender - it's all happening on October 26-28!

If you have never participated in an online crop before, I have to tell you that it's sooo much fun!

There are challenges, classes, games and chatting... You have a whole week to complete the challgenges and you don't need to be a subscriber to play along - the crop is open for everyone!

Painting...

I've been painting for the first time in such a long time...! I don't know what I'm doing, but I'm totally loving the process. :) It's so relaxing and I don't care if it sounds silly - painting really makes me happy.

I have so many canvases and paintings lying around - piles and piles of them - that I have started but never finished. This past weekend I took two of them and just played, instead of starting another one from scratch.

I love the layers and the texture on the background of this one... I will try to take a proper photo of the whole canvas later on.

This second one has transformed almost completely several times. I don't know if these are finished. I never seem to finish my paintings, but just go on and on... =) And yes, I am totally aware of the uneven eyes etc... I just decided that I don't care this time.

I'm not used to this yet...

My new life is making me tired... I've been busy working and sleeping, working and sleeping... and blogging has been pushed down the list of priorities. It feels a bit sad, but hopefully it's just a temporary thing. I'll get used to the new routines and I'll probably work less hours from January too.

I was sketching a little while Alva was playing tennis this morning... trying to make the most of the time available... :)

Distress Inks and stamping...

This is a layout made for the Cocoa Daisy blog, using the September Dandelion stamp and Distress inks. I stamped on watercolour paper and dissolved some of the ink using a brush loaded with water.

This photo is old... probably about 5 years old... Tuva is soon the same age as Alva was when I took this photo. Time is such a strange thing, don't you think?!

And even more misting...

The September theme on the Tattered Angels Inspiration blog is colour mixing and colour theory. I created a simple layout using the complimentary colours green and red.

The background was misted with Glimmer Mist Blarney. I used Chalkboard Glimmer Mist Sprout for the canvas fringe from Canvas Corp and Blarney for the rose ribbon. The thickers were painted with Glimmer Glaze and I splattered some Glam over the background. I also used Glam to paint the flowers.

Glimmering texture...

It's been a bit quiet here on the blog... Going back to work last Wednesday has been a huge change. It doesn't matter that I had plenty of time to mentally prepare. It's still so many new routines and so many adjustments to be made. I'll get the hang of it, I just need some time. :)

Here are another couple of projects that I made for Tattered Angels in August, using texture paste. For both the layout and the canvas I used one of the Tattered Angel screens together with texture paste to create my background.

When creating the layout I then covered my page with gesso and misted on top of the dry gesso using Simply Sheer Light Blue and Pink, Chalkboard Glimmer Mist London Fog, and Glimmer Mists Silver Sugar and Graphite. I also splattered some Glimmer Glaze Pewter over the background and painted the chipboard numbers with Glimmer Glam Smooches.

This layout is about me right now, and how I wish I was better at focusing at the positive side of things. Actually, "right now" was more like 3-4 weeks ago and I do feel a bit more positive at the moment. I guess I'd better do my best to hang on to that feeling... :)

I used the same screen when creating this 6x6 canvas. I used a Chunky Burlap Canvas from Canvas Corp and coloured the background with Chalkboard Glimmer Mist Valencia and Glimmer Mist Sun Sisters.

The star was misted with Key Lime Pie and the wooden cameras were painted with Glimmer Glam Organic Garden.

I hope you're all having a good week! Tomorrow is Friday... yay...!
